Slave-owner on St Vincent, owner of Golden Grove, which he agreed to sell in 1796 to Andrew McCracken (q.v.). His son, William Doyle of Trinidad, perfected the sale in 1804.

Born into slavery in Carriacou, Grenada, Malvina Wells became a lady's maid in Edinburgh and a trusted family friend to her employers.
