???? - 1777
The will of John Morrison of the parish of Hanover planter now residing in St Botolph Aldersgate, proved 07/01/1778, has not been fully analysed by LBS but is a document rich in detail of the legacies of an overseer. He had worked for the Vassall family as overseen the Newfound River estate in Hanover Jamaica, and the will included instructions to purchase from John Vassall four children, Rebecca, Jane, Kitty and Hugh, the children of an enslaved woman named Venus, leaving each of them £100.
