Biography

Soldier, among 23 purchasers who were parties to a deed of 1774 under which Augustin Gwyn (q.v.) sold annuities secured on Mount Charles and Middleton to refinance his purchase of Mount Charles and his development of Middleton.

  1. Col. Thomas Ord of the Royal Artillery had been granted 5000 acres in the province of New York in 1765 and petitioned in 1775 for the grant to be realised.

  2. Will of Thomas Ord Lt Col. in the Royal Regiment of Artillery, of Plumstead, proved 02/05/1777. The will was made in 1769 before his purchase of the annuity from Augustin Gwyn.
