Of London, mortgagee of John Mills in St Kitts for £7000 and of Thomas Meade in Montserrat for £4000 (the balance of the original £8000 loan), and father-in-law of Richard Garth. A Peter Leheup was Agent for Virginia, and a man of the same name embezzled funds from the lottery established to finance the British Museum. LBS has not yet untangled Peter Leheup, the mortgagee from Peter Leheup junior (whose will was proved in 1774) and from a third Peter Leheup whose will was recorded in Chester in 1808.
