Merchant, partner in J. T. & A. Archibald (q.v.) of Glasgow and its affiliates in Demerara and Liverpool until 1815. A man of the same name, given in some sources as Alexander Falconer of Brownyside, died in Glasgow in 1842 leaving personalty of some £55,000 in Scotland: according to genealogical material online, this man had reportedly been in British Guiana where Thomas Telfer Falconer - reportedly the son of Alexander Falconer and Martha Ann Ritchie Telfer - was born c. 1813. Martha Ann [Ritchie] Telfer (q.v.) was previously in a relationship with John Douglas (q.v.).
