Born on Barbados, daughter of Guy Ball (c. 1686-after 1722) the owner of Williams later Ball's plantation in Christ Church Barbados. She married twice, to Edward Lascelles (1702-1747) and after his death Admiral Sir Francis Holburne. The Holburne museum in Bath holds the skeleton of a Plantation Book of 1722 for Williams estate when it was owned by the Ball family.
