Elizabeth Dutens widow was one of a group of mortgagees of the Rosalie estate [and the enslaved people attached to it] on 1775. Her will made in 1788 and proved in 1789 does not refer to the mortgage: she left over £36,000. Her will was the subject of Dashwood v Bulkeley in 1804.
