John Marlar

London merchant and banker, party with Peregrine Cust (q.v.) to a mortgage of £40,000 apparently over property of Sir James Cockburn (q.v.) on Dominica. Marlar's daughter, Charlotte Matthews (1759-1802), has an entry in the ODNB as 'businesswoman.'
