Son of Sir William Codrington 1st bart. (q.v.) and inheritor of 'slave-property' in Barbados that has yet to be traced. John Archibald Codrington in turn in his will made and proved in 1759 left his property in Barbados, subject to an annuity of £200 p.a if his wife had children with him or £300 p.a. if not, to his unborn children, failing whom to his brother Edward Codrington.
