???? - 1838
Son of Thomas Goleborn of Kingston Jamaica whose will was proved 19/09/1783.
Thomas Lynch Goleborn of Jamaica married Catherine, daughter of Sir Joseph Mawbey, 1st Bart, at St Andrews Holborn, 14/08/1792.
The provisions of the will of Catherine's father Sir Joseph Mawbey were the subject of a legal dispute in 1804 with Catherine Goleborne claiming she was entitled to more than her father had left her.
Catherine Goleborne inherited the entailed estates of her great-uncle William Chitwell (died 1795) upon the death of her nephew Sir Joseph Mawbey 2nd Bart without male issue in 1817. In 1829 Thomas Lynch Goleborn sued, accusing the 1st bart of overstepping his powers as tenant-for-life when he had granted a 61 year lease to part of the estate to Richard Hermshaw in 1798.
“Pursuant to a Decree of the High Court of Chancery, made in a cause Swabey versus Swabey, the creditors of Thomas Lynch Goleborn, late of Brickhill-house, in the parish of Saint Peter Martin, Bedford, in the county of Bedford, Esq. deceased (who died in the month of January 1838) are, by their Solicitors, on or before the 4th day of November 1843, to leave their claims of debts before Nassau William Senior, Esq. one of the Masters of the said Court, at his office, in Southampton-buildings, Chancery-lane, London, and are, on or before the 4th day of December 1843, to establish such claims before the said Master, or in default thereof they will be peremptorily excluded the benefit of the said Decree and the General Orders of the said Court.”
