Biography

Owner of two estates in Portland, Jamaica. In the slave registers he lists enslaved people on both in his own right and also in right of his wife. The exact nature of their joint- or co-ownership is unknown. Robert Mein was attorney or manager of Cold Harbour, the larger of the estates, from at least 1804 and possibly as early as 1800.
