Eldest son of John Hosack (q.v.) and his wife Jean Tinning. Baptised in Tinwald, Dumfries, 09/09/1808. Inherited Buff Bay River from his father who died c. 1816 but not to assume management of the estate until he reached age 26. He remained in Jamaica at least until the Morant Bay uprising, but was in Britain by 1881.
GROS OPR Births 849 010 014. See entry for his father John Hosack for a precis of his will. He appears to have been buried in Dumfriesshire in 1883.
