James McWilliam of Jamaica was identified in the will of David McEwen of Grenada (made in 1837 and proved in 1838) as the husband of his [McEwen's] late daughter Margaret. McEwen left the McWilliam children a 1/4 share in his St Cyr estate, and the remaining service for the apprentices attached to it, in Grenada. He is also identified as the brother in the will of Alexander McWilliam of Clarendon, Jamaica.
