1804 - 1853
Son and heir of George Sharpe (q.v.) of The Views Huntingdon and Christian nee Payne, daughter of Sir Gillies Payne bart. George Henry Sharpe died 25th October 1853 aged 49 at Bedford 'of the Island of St Vincent'.
George Henry Sharpe of Bedford was a member of the provisional committees of Remington's Line, the independent London-Manchester Railway, of the Burton-upon-Trent [Staffordshire], Stafford, Shrewsbury and Newtown, and of the Eastern Counties extension.
Will of George Henry Sharpe of Bletsoe Bedfordshire [made in 1827] proved 23/04/1854. The will rehearsed and ratified his 1827 marriage settlement with his wife Caroline Elizabeth Livius of Bedford, under which the Redemption estate was put in trust to secure her an annuity [of £50 p.a.] after his death. In a codicil made in 1848 [when he was shown as late of Bletsoe but now of Bedford] he modified the trust, directing the Redemption estate after the life-interest of his wife to the benefit of his sons, George Barham [?] Sharpe and Frederick Vaughan Sharpe, and daughter Ida Mary Sharpe in equal proportions.
