Probably John Loving Hazell, a slave-owner of colour; Assistant Justice in St Vincent in 1856 and former Member of Council. "Mr. John Loving Hazell raised himself to a position of influence in the community, and deserves credit for having so successfully educated his respectable family."
His daughter Augusta Sophia Hazell married Afro-Barbadian Thomas Joshua Cummins.
