Awarded the compensation for 15 enslaved people in Trinidad and almost certainly the same man as the Henry Paxton Williams awarded the compensation for a further two enslaved people in the Bahamas.
Identified as 'Bay of Honduras' in the compensation records, although dying in London. A son Edward Francis was baptised 13/02/1835 at St Mary Bryanstone Square when the mother was given as Ramona Faxards Williams and their address as Lisson Grove South. Captain Henry Paxton Williams was buried at St Luke Kensington 24/09/1839 aged 41, when his address was given as Robert Street: his death had been registered Q3 1839 at Kensington.
Will of Henry Paxton Williams Captain in Her Majesty's 2nd West India Regiment 'at present stationed in the island of New Providence but about to embark for England' proved 30/09/1839. In the will he left his property to his 'beloved wife Ramona Gauxardo [sic] Williams' and to his three children, Henry Augustus, Mary Jane and Ramona Margarita. He stated that he had £1144 2s 4d in his own name in 3 per cent reduced consols; £885 in the hands of his 'relative' ('brother-in-law' is deleted) Robert Gwilt of Chelsea College London bearing interest at 4% p.a.; and £103 14s 3d in the hands of his brother Edward Eyre Williams of the City of London. His execuotrs were Edward Eyre Williams and his brother-in-law Augustus Maria Guaxardo Faxardo at present in England, Assist. Commissary General in the British Service and his wife Ramona Guaxardo.
