Alexander Scott Broomfield of Dublin, awarded the compensation for the Belair estate in Trinidad. His path to ownership is unclear, but conceivably through his wife.
Alexander Scott Broomfield exchanged with a half-pay lieutenant in the 58th Regiment of Foot in November 1822. He was party to a suit, Broomfield v. Campbell in 1835, arising from his marriage settlement with Sarah Campbell, and concerning the sum to be paid to his only surviving daughter Barbara Broomfield.
Alexander Scott Broomfield of Hollywood, in the county of Wicklow, and Rossanure, in the county of Clare, died at Torquay [Devon] in the 48th year of his age, March 1846. Death of Alexander Scott Broomfield registered Q1 1847 Newton Abbott Devonshire. Barbara Campbell Broomfield of 8 York Terrace, daughter of Alexander Scott Broomfield, married Evelyn H. F. Pocklington at Leamington Priors 09/08/1847.

Family Search IGI shows an A. Scott Bloomfield [sic] born about 1800 Hollywood, Wicklow and marrying at Maryport, Cumberland about 1823, but this appears to be a confused entry with no references. IGI shows separately and with full source references Alexander Scott Broomfield marrying Sarah Campbell, daughter of Alexander Campbell, at Edinburgh 09/09/1822.
