Alexander Gray

Alexander Gray 'of Lanark, for many years a resident proprietor in Trinidad and a member of the Legislative Council....' There is a wall tablet in St Kentigern's churchyard Lanark to Alexander Gray of Trinidad West Indies born 01/11/1798 and died 20/08/1860. In 1866, on his daughter's marriage, he was given simply as 'gentleman' but by 1867 when his daughter Emily Margaret married Gower Munro Capt. 2nd Battalion 20th Regiment he was shown as deceased.

Alexander Mackenzie, History of the Mackenzies, Charles William Beverley Mackenzie married Selina Janet, described as the daughter of Alexander Gray of Lanark.
