London merchant, And. Mackintosh & Co. (q.v.), awarded part of the compensation for the enslaved people on Friendship Hall in Trinidad and part of the compensation for a separate group of 25 enslaved people also in Trinidad, in each case the bulk of the compesation was paid to Robert Neilson (q.v.). He is probably the same Andrew Mackintosh who was awarded the compensation for two other awards elswhere in Trinidad.
And. Mackintosh & Co West India merchants were shown at Langbourn Chambers, Fenchurch Street in 1835.
In 1863 Andrew Mackintosh of Brabant Court city of London entered into a deed with Alexander Bell the younger of Finch Lane to convey Mackintosh's assets to Bell for the benefit of the former's creditors. The notice refers to Andrew Mackintosh's 'Trinidad firm.'
Born Martinique circa 1803; married Margaret Anne Hall 14/10/1825 St Ann Limehouse; 1841 living at Northampton Terrace Islington aged 40 merchant with Margaret aged 35 and 6 children; 1851 census aged 48 West India merchant at Duncan Terrace Islington with wife Margaret and Margaret aged 2. Died 'of Duncan Terrace 01/08/1865', effects under £300.
