One source refers to Ames being buried, aged 46, in Charlton, Kent, the date of death being 28 November 1828. (I.e. aged 46 at death.) The inscription notes that he was 'for many years Merchant in Barbadoes'. However, this was either a different Ames or the compensation claim was awarded to his estate?
He was the Executor for the estate of Samuel Ames. It is possible that they were brothers.
