1797 - 1880
One of a family group awarded the compensation for Sandfords on Barbados.
The group comprises: Robert K Gibbons (almost certainly Robert Kenrick Gibbons 1797-1880), William B. Gibbons (almost certainly William Barton Gibbons 1802-1872), both Robert Kenrick and William Barton being the sons of Robert Gibbons 1756-1805 and grandsons of Sir John Gibbons 2nd bart.; Emily Fitzgerald, almost certainly née Gibbons, the sister of Robert Gibbons 1756-1805 and aunt of the two preceding men; Martha Taylor, almost certainly Martha Tayler née Gibbons, the sister of Robert Kenrick Gibbons and William Barton Gibbons; Caroline, Mary A and Georgiana Gibbons, probably the infant children of Robert Kenrick Gibbons, although not identified as such in the claim; and Mary Kingolay, presumably a transcription error for Kingslay, Kingsley or Kinglay, who has not been further identified.
Mary Kingolay was Mary Kingsley, identified in TNA T71/549 (1832 Barbados Slave Register), p. 265.
Martha Tayler was spelled Taylor in the 1832 Barbados Slave Register.
T71/897 Barbados No. 2814.
