Awarded the compensation for a 1/8th share of the Bachelors Adventure and Enterprise estate, with his 6 siblings and his mother (who may appear as Elizabeth Hopkinson in the compensation records, although she and John Hopkinson were apparently not married).
Son of John Hopkinson (q.v.) and Elizabeth Rogers, brother of Benjamin, Jonathan, Hugh etc. (six siblings), and half-brother of Thomas, Joseph and Elizabeth (each of whom q.v.).
Born Demerara sometime between 1810-1816. Christened St James', Liverpool 8 October 1816, at the same time as his brothers Jonathan and Jonas, sons of John and Elizabeth Hopkinson, planter, of Mill Street Toxteth Park.
