  1. The will of Jacob Sims of Leytonstone Essex proved 09/02/1842 is almost certainly the will of this man, although it is very short and uninformative, leaving his estate to his wife Mary. The London Assurance Company called a meeting 16/02/1842 to elect a director in place of Jacob Sims deceased.

  2. Jacob Sims of parish of St George in the East Tower Hamlets married Mary Parry 11/07/1812, witnesses included James Sims. 1841 census Jacob Sims merchant aged 50 of Low Leyton Essex living with wife Mary aged 40.

  3. Brother of James Sims of Leytonstone, whose will was proved 29/06/1835, and a witness at his wedding. James Sims himself was a director of the London Assurance until his retirement in 1833. A James Sims was also a partner in G & A Young, Sims and Young which dissolved in 31/12/1817 after which the other partners went on without Sims [the 1833 Jamaica Almanac for Portland shows 'Young and Sims' for the Golden Vale estate, for which William U. Sims and Jacob Sims were awarded the compensation, and for the Cambridge estate, the compensation for which was paid to the executors of William Lambie as receiver]. The will of James Sims is short and uninformative, leaving everything to his brother Jacob.
