Henry Pearse

London merchant, partner in Bond & Pearse (q.v.). Pearse went bankrupt in 1854. Clearly related to Brice Pearse (q.v.), probably the son Henry whose marriage settlement with Mary Thornton was referred to in the will of Brice Pearse.

1. At the time of his bankruptcy he was identified as of Digswell, Welwyn Herts, where the family was living in 1851.  In 1861 he was living at 4 Upper Hyde Park St in Paddington aged 59, Fundholder,  born Woodford, with his wife Mary aged 50 (born Harley Street) and his daughters Julia 19 and Alice 16 and , and his sons Cosmo B[rice] 12 [later Cosmo Brice-Thompson] and Ernest 11, the latter two born Digswell. Probably the Henry Pearse of 32 Queens Gate Terrace who died 14/06/1866 and whose will was proved by his widow Mary 14/11/1866, effects under £2000.
