Bristol merchant and partner of George Weare Braikenridge in Honnywill & Braikenridge (q.v.). Son of Richard Honnywill Snr (1733-95) and Ruth Thomas (d.1788).
A Richard Honnywill married three times. Firstly, Susanna Avant (d.1795) 25/02/1786 in Bristol, no issue; secondly, Elizabeth Henderson (d.1799) 23/10/1798 at Westbury on Trym Gloucs., no issue; thirdly, Elizabeth Weston in Shepton Malleton. The couples children include Edward Agustus [sic] (b. 26/01/1822), Alfred (b. 06/12/1823); John Blake (b. 14/12/1824), Emma (b. 22/09/1826) were all baptised at Clifton, the children of Richard Honnywill and Elizabeth; Julia Archall Honywill was born to Richard and Elizabeth and baptised on 26/05/1830. The death of Richard Honnywill registered Q2 1842 at Clifton.

Will of Richard Honnywill of Clifton Gloucestershire [made in 1841] proved 23/09/1842. He left his wife Elizabeth an annuity of £1200 p.a. After reciting the imprudence of his wife's three sisters and their financial dependence upon him, he left each of them an annuity of £35 p.a. He left £5000 each to his three daughters, and his remaining estate among his sons.
