Awarded the compensation with William Pulsford (q.v.) for the Aleppo estate in St Mary Jamaica.
Tentatively identified as the John Bainbridge merchant of Bainbridge and Brown, late of 5 Copthall Court and 35 Southampton Row, Russell Square, whose creditors were sought in 1839 after his death in a notice dated 24/11/1839. The partnership of Bainbridges and Brown Bread-street Cheapside between George Bainbridge, John Bainbridge and Thomas Brown had continued in 1822 after the withdrawal John Bainbridge the younger.
Documents in the Durham Record Office (for property in England) associate Robert and William Pulsford of Great St Helens as trustees of Mark Milbank in transfers c. 1830 involving Elizabeth Bainbridge, widow of George Bainbridge merchant of London. The catalogue identifies John Bainbridge of Park Crescent, Portland Place as son and heir of George Bainbridge.
