1786 - 1849
Irish Catholic lawyer and administrator and 'backstairs viceroy of Ireland', who was awarded the compensation granted to Captain Alexander Ellice's for his 1/6th of the enslaved people on the Morant estate in St Thomas-in-the-East. It is not clear in what capacity Blake received the money: Ellice wrote to the Commissioners 21/11/1836 giving consent for the payment.
