Abel Peyton Phelps of London married Rachel Susannah Deans (1800-49), the daughter of Samuel Jackson and Elizabeth Motte Gibbes and the widow of Alexander Deans of Falmouth.
Phelps was party to a Chancery suit William Dawson and Caroline his wife versus Abel Peyton Phelps in 1858 that also involved creditors of his father-in-law Samuel Jackson (q.v.). Notice for creditors of Abel Peyton Phelps late of No. 80 Baker Street Portman Square who died in January last [i.e. 1867]. Effects under £1000.
