Trustee (probably of William Cunninghame (q.v.)), and in that capacity awarded the compensation for the Grandvale estate in Westmoreland, Jamaica. Possibly James Stirling (1805-1883), partner in William Stirling & Son, family dyeing company in Glasgow, although this James Stirling would have been relatively young to serve as a trustee.
