Biography

Awarded with Reginald D. Macdonald (q.v.) part of the compensation for the Argyle, Calder and Calder Ridge estates on St Vincent, as trustees of the marriage settlement of the Prince de Polignac (q.v.) and his (deceased) first wife Barbara Campbell.

  1. Second son of 4th Duke of Atholl and his first wife, Hon. Jane Cathcart, daughter of Charles Schaw, 9th Lord Cathcart. Army officer and MP for Perthsire 1807-1812. Married Lady Emily Frances Percy, daughter of Earl of Northumberland 1811. Their son George became the 6th Duke of Atholl. Created Baron Glenlyon 17 July 1821.
