Sister of Maria Park Fleming (née King) and Celia Scott (both q.v.) - the three women with their husbands were awarded half the compensation for 107 enslaved people on the Sherwood Park estate in Tobago having made a monetary claim for £3977 4s 4d (plus interest from 1819) under the will of Thos Bird dated 17/11/1791.
Living in East Stonehouse, Devon, in the census of 1851, age 56, born in 'Scotland, Dunkirk, British Subject', with husband Isaac Toby age 57 and 2 female servants. At the same address in 1861, born in 'Scotland Dunkirk'. Widowed by 1871, still in East Stonehouse, born in France.
'The Will of Anne Toby late of Stonehouse in the County of Devon widow who died 13 May 1879 at Stonehouse was proved at the Prinicpal Registry by Edward Gough McCallum of Steonhouse Gentleman and John Oliver of Stoke in the said County Clerk in Her majesty's Dockyard at Devonport the Executors. Effects less than £200.'
