Daughter and co-heiress of Paul Benfield, co-claimant with her sister Henrietta Sophia (q.v.) and their respective husbands. 'Awarded to sd claimants, the said Henrietta Sophia Berkeley and sd Caroline Martha Berkeley having under deeds duly executed consented that the awrd should be made to them and their husbands conjointly'.

[?] Fitzhardinge Berkeley claiming as of right to be Earl of Berkeley'. Death of Caroline Martha Berkeley registered Eastbourne Q1 1873 aged 73. Will of Caroline Martha Berkelely '(the wife of George Charles Grantley Fitzhardinge Berkeley)' formerly of Bentinck Street Marylebone but late of 2 Sussex Gardens Eastbourne, who died 13/02/1873 proved 17/06/1873 effects under £12,000, resworn December 1880 (possibly 1886) at under £14,000.
