  3. It was the elder Bonamy Dobree who served as Governor of the Bank of England 1859-1861.

  4. The ODNB shows Bonamy Dobree (1891-1974), literary scholar, grandson of Bonamy Dobree (1794-1863) and youngest child and only son of Bonamy Dobree and his wife Violet Chase.  This is erroneous: the literary scholar was the son of Bonamy Dobree (1863-1891), himself the grandson of Bonamy Dobree the Governor of the Bank of England. Bonamy Dobree jr (1819-1907), the son of the Governor of the Bank of England and father of Bonamy Dobree (1863-1891), had married Emma Mary Snell Chauncy, the daughter of Nathaniel Snell Chauncy.
