Son of George Trevelyan (1764-1827), archdeacon of Taunton, and Harriet, 3rd daughter of Sir Richard Neave Bart. Both George Trevelyan (1764-1827) and Rev. Walter Trevelyan (d. 1830) were the younger sons of Sir John Trevelyan bart., and legatees under his will of his Grenada property which had come through his wife Louisa Simond. The Rev. George Trevelyan, son of Rev. George Trevelyan (1764-1827), was awarded the compensation for enslaved people on six awards in Grenada, with other family members, where he was given simply as George Trevelyan.
George Trevelyan and Harriet Neave had 6 sons and 3 daughters including Sir Charles Edward Trevelyan, the Indian administrator and domestic civil service reformer who married Hannah More Macaulay, sister of Lord Macaulay.
George Trevelyan s. George Trevelyan clerk Nettlecombe matriculated Balliol 1813 aged 17 BA 1818 MA 1820, vicar of Milverton Prima 1823-5, rector of Treborough Somerset, Vicar of Stogumber Somerset 1821 until death in 1871. [He died late of Colyton in Devon leaving £7000, resworn from £10,000].
