Biography

Mary Pendrill, co-heiress of her grandfather William Campbell of New Milns in Hanover, Jamaica and co-awardee with her three sisters of compensation for the enslaved on the estate.

  1. Daughter of John Pendrill of Bath and Margaret Ross Campbell and sister of Elizabeth Fisher, Judith Campbell Longlands and Margaret Campbell M'Kenzie (each of whom q.v.).  In 1871 Mary Pendrill aged 74 unmarried 'Funded Property' was head of household at 13 Bennett Street with visitor Ann P .Mackenzie aged 70 annuitant and niece Mary Mackenzie aged 34 annuitant.  In 1881 Mary Pendrill aged 84 unmarried born Cadoxton Glamorgan was again living at 13 Bennett Street Walcot Bath with her niece Mary Mackenzie aged 43.

  2. Will of Mary Pendrill of 13 Bennett Street Bath who died 18/07/1881 proved 29/08/1881 by niece Mary Mackenzie, personal estate £11,370 9s 10d.

  3. John Pendrill had been in Jamaica, appearing as a Lieutenant in the St James Regiment of the militia in 1790.  Will of John Pendrill of Bath proved 26/02/1827.
