Biography

Co-awardee with other members of his wife's family, the Burtons, of the compensation for the Chiswick estate in St Thomas-in-the-East.

  1. Son of John Farr (DL & JP 1757-1824) and Hannah Lee. John Lee Farr married Caroline Burton at Great Yarmouth 10/09/1818. In 1841 the family was living at Maple House, Kelsale. In 1851 John Lee Farr aged 69 Magistrate of Suffolk was living at 19 Front Street Aldeburgh with his wife Caroline aged 63 and daughter Charlotte aged 26 [?] born North Cove, Suffolk. His death at Aldeburgh was reported  in 1856, when he was described as 'formerly of North Coor [sic] Hall.'

  2. One of John Lee Farr and Caroline Burton's sons, the Rev. John Farr (1820-1867) married into the Cobbold brewing family of his wife Emily Caroline Cobbold (1819-1903).
