Awarded part of the compensation for 13 enslaved people in Trinidad with William Anthony Harrison and Sarah Ann Walkinshaw (both of whom q.v.).
There are at least two possibilities: (1) the John Harrison who was baptised at Blandford Forum 21/03/1785, the son of John and Ele [or Ely] Harrison, who was probably the same man as the John Harrison 'gentleman' aged 66 born Blandford Forum living with his wife Eliza at St Andrew Plymouth in 1851; (2) the John Harrison attorney whose son with his wife Mary was baptised at Blandford Forum 16/12/1824.
W. Hanley of Trinidad was listed as a subscriber to Charles Shepherd's An Historical Account of the Island of Saint Vincent, published in 1832.
T871/894 Trinidad 1842A-C. T71/1277 identifies John Harrison as of Blandford Forum, Dorset and William Anthony Harrison as of Uxbridge.
