Partner in Reid Irving (q.v.) which failed in 1847-8.
The first evidence of James Milligan as a partner in Reid Irving appears in 1831, when the firm petitioned as a creditor against a Joseph Prendergast of London.
In 1851 a James Milligan 'Merchant and Consul in London for Vinisuela' aged 53 born Glasgow Scotland was living with his wife Elizabeth (aged 46, born Gibraltar) and children James aged 14 born St Marylebone and John G aged 9 born St Stephens City of London at Brook [?] Road, Walton-on-the-Hill in Lancashire; the death of a James Milligan was registered at West Derby Q1 1853.
