Note that it is possible that the James Crichlow who was Attorney to Sir Francis Ford was different from this one. In the 1832 Slave Register (TNA, T71/549, pp. 73-4) Crichlow is simply given as James Crichlow (without the middle E.) This was also the case in the 1829 Register (TNA, T71/544, p. 86).
