Biography

Apparently resident planter, whose son George Sharp became a clergyman in England. To date no will or probate details have been found for either father or son.

  1. George Sharp, admitted as a pensioner (age 20) at Caius College, Cambridge, 26 March, 1835. Only son of William Thomas Sharp, of Claybury, Barbados. Born in Barbados. School, Codrington College, Barbados. Matriculated. Michaelmasterm, 1835; B.A. 1840; M.A. 1843. Admitted at Lincoln's Inn, 10 November, 1838. Ordained deacon (Gloucester) 24 December, 1848; priest (Exeter) 1849; Curate of St Mabe, Cornwall, 1849-52. Curate of Illogan, 1852-3. Perpetual Curate of Merther, 1853-61. Married, 7 May, 1840, at Bathwick, to Sarah, only daughter of James Dottin Maycock, of Barbados. Latterly of Stanley, Torquay, where he died 29 November, 1864.
