Biography

  1. Henry Beckles Gall was the son of Dr Henry Beckles Gall and Sarah C Gall. He married Sarah Halman Gall neé Hitzler.

  2. He was the brother of William Gall (q.v.). Their father Henry Beckles Gall was a merchant and 'Practitioner of Physic' in Demerara. The brothers are recorded leaving that colony in June 1816.

  3. He was a founding member of the Barbados Mutual Life Assurance Society in 1840 and later became the society's secretary and actuary. In January 1847 he became the Official Assignee of Barbados. In March 1853 he was appointed as secretary and actuary for the Savings Bank.
