Claimant or beneficiary

Biography

London solicitor, awarded the compensation as mortgagee for two estates in Antigua belonging to Sir William Lewis George Thomas 4th bart. (q.v.). It is unclear at present whether Marmaduke Robinson was in fact a principal in this mortgage: an entry in Vere Langford Oliver's History of Antigua suggests that Marmaduke Robinson had earlier (and possibly separately) acted as trustee for the Arthur Freeman estate on Antigua as part of an arrangement within the Freeman/Thomas family under indentures dated 1801 and 1811.
