Biography

Recorder of Demerary and Essequebo in the late 1820s. Probably but not certainly the Mark Dyett who was the son of Henry Dyett of Montserrat and brother of Henry Dyett of the City of London (each of whom q.v.), awarded part of the compensation for Hoff van Holland in British Guiana as curator of Daniel Broadhead by virtue of 1st and 2nd mortgages. An 'M. Dyett' had been a partner with John Johnson and Charles McGarel (q.v.) in Demerara in 1812.

  1. In 1848, the estate of Mark Dyett who had died in Georgetown c. 28/02/1848 was among a dozen or so estates of deceased individuals for whom the Administrator-General of Demerary and Essequebo advertised for creditors to come forward.
