Henry Raper

London barrister, awarded the compensation with others for the enslaved people on Laroche's in Antigua after counterclaiming against the owner Thomas Langford Brooke as 'surviving trustees under marriage settlement of Eliza Brooke for raising £150 per annum pin money, £8000 for children, £800 per annum as jointure'.

1. In 1841 Henry Raper barrister aged 46 was living at Tavistock Place with his wife Georgina aged 40; in 1851 Henry Raper barrister not in practice aged 56 born Aberford, Yorkshire was living with his wife aged 21 at Brighton. Georgina Raper had died in 1845, and was buried at All Souls Kensal Green 26/09/1845 of Earls Court House Brompton and 18 Tavistock Place. The will of Henry Raper, formerly of Brighton but late of Chepstow Villas who died at 1 Chepstow Villas 16/05/1867 was proved 06/06/1867, effects under £5000.   

2. Apparently unconnected with Admiral Henry Raper (1767-1845 ) or his son, also Henry (1799-1859), a naval scientist.
