1776 - 1854
Dutch absentee, living in Amsterdam, widow of C. E. Roell, awarded the compensation for the enslaved people on Bestendigheid in British Guiana.
Christina Philippina Walenson (1776-1854), widow of Cornelis Elias Roell (1770-1806), both of Amsterdam, listed in an unsourced online family tree. In 1819 the enslaved people on Bestendigheid had been registered on behalf of 'Mrs C. P. Walenson widow C.E. Roell', by A. Kriegers one of the administrators.
Born in Berbice, daughter of Abraham Walenson and Catharina Gaillard, and dying in Holland.
British Guiana no. 20. T71/1252 affidavit from Amsterdam [apparently proved by governor of Amsterdam and by British consul there] signed by C.P. Walenson et al. [n.d.] establishing power of attorney.
We are grateful for the help of Paul Koulen with this entry, including copies of the death certificate for C.P. Walenson.
