???? - 1857
Resident planter in the 1830s, identified with Walter Price and John Croal as attorneys of James Hill Albouy, merchant of Georgetown Demerara 1838.
Call by John Daly Administrator-General of Demerary and Essequebo, in the colony of British Guiana 24/04/1858 for creditors of estates to come forward, including those of George Warren 'who died in the City of London on or about the 10th July 1857' and his Plantation Farm, situate in Mahaiconey, in this colony. The death of George Warren registered for July 1857 is Q3 in Kensington; the will accompanying this gives him as George Warren late Lieutenant Colonel in Her Majesty's Service of Kensington, proved 14/08/1857. This George Warren was commander of the 2nd Bengal Europe Regiment ('who had by this time recovered from the wounds he had received at the capture of the fortress of Ghuznee'), raised in 1839. The George Warren in the slave compensation records was described as Captain George Warren c. 1834.
In 1841 George Warren, age 45, of independent means, was living at Chester Square, London, with Maria Warren, age 20, Cleopatra Warren, age 20, Georgiana Warren, age 20, two female and one male servants (all ages rounded down to the nearest 5 years). In 1851 he was living at 1 Thurloe Square, Kensington, age 63, 'Lieut-Col. Retired from the service', born Ripple in Worcestershire, with his wife Maria (31), daughters Georgiana C. (26), Maria (7), Harriet J. S. (5), Mary P. (3) and son George S. (1), a visitor Ann Davis, and 5 female servants. His wife Maria and eldest daughter Georgiana had been born in Demerara, the younger children born in Middlesex.
Later censuses show Cleopatra Warren to be George Warren's daughter, born in Demerara c. 1818 and Georgiana Clement Warren to have been born in Demerara c. 1825.
