Biography

Brother of Hugh Rogers and Thomas Rogers (each of whom q.v.), and co-owner with his family of Clonbrock in British Guiana. Natural son of Thomas Rogers the elder.

  1. Will of John Rogers of St Mary Demerary proved 27/05/1839. In his will he left £3000 to his daughter Ann 'at present residing in the village of Wavertree near Liverpool', with the residue of his estate, including his one-sixth of Plantation Clonbrock and his boatbuilding business at Mahaica in trust for his wife Helen, son Thomas and daughter Clarissa Mary. His executors were his wife, his brother Thomas, his brother-in-law Edward Hargrave at present residing in Demerary, and Daniel Waterhouse of Liverpool.
