Biography

Son of Thomas Edwards of Comfort Hall (d. 1805) and nephew of Andrew Edwards of Cocoa Nut Hall.

  1. Administration of the will of Thomas Spencer Edwards of Antigua [made in 1841] granted 11/12/1855. He left an annuity of £600 currency p.a. to his wife Anne Wickham Edwards, secured on his estates. He left £8000 to his son Francis Wilson Edwards, and £6000 each to any subsequent children. He left £600 p.a. to his son William Horatio Edwards until his [the testator's] debts were paid, when William Horatio Edwards was to receive the estate. If William Horatio Edwards died, the estate was to pass to Francis Wilson Edwards subject to an annuity of £200 p.a to the former's widow. The will identifies Thomas Henry Edwards, who was the owner at the time the estate was sold by the West India Encumbered Estates Commission, as his grandson. He left his 12 shares in the Southampton Docks to his son Francis Wilson Edwards and his grandson Thomas Henry Edwards.
