T71/363 p. 141: Joseph Court registered 11 enslaved persons on the Grange estate in 1832.
T71/1609: letter, dated 09/09/1835, from John Constable, Southampton (Hampshire), stating that he had counterclaimed for the Grange estate as mortgagee, and had registered a power of attorney from Joseph Court (the owner) to receive the compensation.

Member of the Baillie of Dochfour family who had numerous mercantile connections in the West Indies. The compensation for Baillie's Bacolet in Grenada was awarded to the trustees of her marriage settlement. Grand-daughter of Colin Roy Campbell of Glenmure. Apparently a victim of the quack doctor John St John Lang of Harley Street in 1830.

A cover note outlining the contents of the document.
