T71/856: claim by a group of Liverpool based owners-in-fee [illegible, but including Alice, Ann and Eliza Smith, Edward Charles Smith; Robert Charles, Sarah Charles and Edward Sumner]. Counterclaim from E.S. Charles, 'Annuitant under the will of Joseph Charles for arrears of £88 0s 6d Annuity pr ann. £42 17s 4d sterling'. Affidavit of service of notice on Claimants for an award for amount of arrears of annuity and for investment of the residue of the Compensation to meet the 'growing [?] annuity'. Award split: £222 0s 8d to E.S. Charles, the residue to John Charles White and Charles Dewdrey (presumably trustees).
T71/1378: Edward Charles was the reputed son of Joseph Charles of the Island of Jamaica, who left him an annuity in his will of 1799.
